GPD investigating armed robbery at Cricket on Greenville Blvd

Greenville, N.C. (WNCT)- Greenville Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Cricket wireless store off of Greenville Boulevard.

Police say it happened around 6:30 Saturday evening.

Police say a man entered the store with a silver handgun and demanded money from two Cricket employees. WNCT talked to one of the employees who said the suspect threatened to kill him if he did not hand over money.

Police say the suspect then ran off with a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators say the stolen phone was recovered behind the Hilton Greenville hotel.

Police say the incident is still under investigation.
