Pedestrian killed in New Bern crash

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – The New Bern Police Department is investigating a deadly crash involving a pedestrian.

According to officers, 59-year-old Arnold Worthington was hit by a 1995 Mazda truck while he was crossing the road.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. Thursday on Neuse Boulevard near 1st Street.

Worthington was transported to Carolina East Medical Center and then to Vidant where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police are continuing the investigation and the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the officers. There are no charges pending at this time.

Police are still investigating the crash and more information is expected to be released.
