Pennsylvania radio host organizes supply donation for Lenoir Co.

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Flood victims in Lenoir County now have much-needed supplies thanks to Pennsylvania residents.

The donations are from the listeners of Todd Bartley’s radio sports show in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

An 18-wheeler delivered more than 25,000 pounds of supplies.

Items ranged from diapers to canned goods and water.

Bartley, a former Kinston native, organized the drive.

Truck driver Scott Horton said he volunteered to drive because he’s been in three hurricanes and knows what it’s like to lose everything.

“People came together yesterday in a big way,” said Horton. “We didn’t even know if we were going to have a full truck or not…People just kept coming and some of the local companies donated and said if we had more time, we could have done more.”

Horton said he wouldn’t be surprised if he delivers more supplies in the next few weeks.
