VIRAL PHOTO: Couple offers home as refuge to troopers during flooding

LA GRANGE, N.C. (WNCT) – A photo is going viral on social media of a Lenoir County couple with several North Carolina Highway Patrol troopers.

The photo was originally posted on the Office of North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory’s Facebook page.

It shows La Grange couple, Wesley and Vivian Sutton, with four NC Highway Patrol troopers.


According to the post, Mr. and Mrs. Sutton offered their home as a refuge for troopers to rest and recover after working long days in Lenoir County during Hurricane Matthew and its aftermath.

The Governor’s Office posted: “The Sutton’s compassion and true kindness is a direct reflection of the resilience that our citizens display during times of peril.”

North Carolina State Highway Patrol’s Facebook page shared the post .


As of Monday morning, the post has thousands of likes and shares.
