Richlands man arrested in Duplin Co. stabbing


BEULAVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a Richlands man Saturday in connection to a stabbing earlier in the month.

Deputies said Isaiah Grayson Barbee stabbed Jacob Sholar in the stomach and back October 4. Sholar was transported by EMS and airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

On Saturday, Barbee was found in custody in Graham County following a domestic altercation, deputies said.

Barbee has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill in connection with the Duplin County stabbing.

He is currently being held in lieu of $200,000 bail and is awaiting transport to Duplin County.
