Shooting in Bethel leaves one injured

BETHEL, NC (WNCT) – One person is recovering Sunday night after a shooting occurred outside the Dollar General in Bethel.

Bethel Police tell WNCT a custody exchange was taking place, when multiple suspects got into an altercation, leading to shots being fired.

One person was shot outside the store just before 6:00pm. The victim was transported to Vidant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the incident. Anyone with information should contact the Bethel Police Department at (252) 825-5481.
