Williamston man charged with attempted murder after Robersonville shooting

WILLIAMSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – A Williamston man is charged with attempted murder.

Deputies said it all started when they responded to reports of a shooting in Robersonville just after noon on Thursday.

The shooting victim was able to identify the suspect and tell lawmen that the man had fled the scene in a gray 4-door Nissan.

A Robersonville Police officer located the vehicle at the Robersonville Meat Packing on Green Street. With the aid of back-up and a K9, the suspect was located and taken into custody.

He’s identified as 30-year-old Andrew Wallace, Jr. He’s charged with 2 counts of attempted murder and Felony Breaking/Entering with Intent to Terrorize or Injure. He was placed under a 1,000,000 secured bond.

A female victim was transported to Martin General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.

There’s no word on what prompted the incident.
