Kinston church packs up before Neuse River crests

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Members of the United American Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston packed everything into a Mack Truck to prepare for the cresting of the Neuse River.

Moses Ramsey said during Floyd they lost about everything, but that’s not happening this time.

Everything valuable is moving to higher ground.

“We got desks, we have chairs and organs, and we have the master microphone…and we got drums” Ramsey said.

Ramsey said they could not get the piano into the truck because it is too heavy to lift, so they moved it to the highest part of the church and are hoping for the best.
