Pitt Co. man arrested for looting during emergency


GRIMESLAND, N.C. (WNCT) – A Pitt County man is arrested and charged after deputies say he stole several items and looted during an emergency.

The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle with a trailer and four-wheeler behind it Monday morning.

It happened near Mobley’s Bridge Road and Highway 33 East.

The responding detective discovered the trailer, two four-wheelers, several guns, chainsaw and other tools to be stolen.

36-year-old David Michael Chambers is charged with Felony B&E, three counts of Felony Larceny, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession Firearm by Felon, Manufacture Marijuana and Looting during Emergency.
