Onslow County offers disposal options for storm debris

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Clean up from Matthew continued in Onslow County as many residents hauled off huge tree limbs and debris to the landfill.

The county provides several disposal locations that are open special hours this week from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Onslow County Solid Waste/Landfill director Scott Bost advises that citizens may bring debris to the Onslow County Landfill located at 415 Meadowview Road in Jacksonville. They will then be directed where to take debris.

Debris accepted:

  • Vegetative debris (trees, tree limbs, shrubs, etc.)
  • Demolition debris (debris from any manmade physical structure including houses, buildings, commercial facilities, etc.)
  • Regular household waste (garbage, cans, compost, food scraps, etc.)

Citizens may use any of Onslow County’s remotely located convenience sites for regular household waste:
