SIMPSON, N.C. (WNCT) – In Greenville and Pitt County there are several problem areas with significant flooding and even roads washed out.

One such road is Simpson Street in Simpson.

A 9 On Your Side crews at the scene spoke to the driver who’s car ended up in a jam after flood waters washed out the road.

“I just wanted to get home so they had it blocked off with cones, but I thought it was just run over water and when you’re driving up here, it looks like it’s just water,” explained Gaberiel Simpkims, Driver. “You can’t see the hole and to make a long story short, I just flew into the other side of it.”

Luckily, he was not injured.
