PIRATE GAMEDAY – South Florida 38, ECU 22 – FINAL


TAMPA, Fla. (WNCT) – East Carolina lost on the road Saturday 38-22 at South Florida.

The Pirates have now lost four-straight, it’s first four-game losing streak since 2004.

USF (5-1, 2-0) quarterback Quinton Flowers led the charge with three passing touchdowns. Flowers also rushed for 115 yards.

For the second straight game, Gardner Minshew came in to relieve an injured Philip Nelson.

Minshew completed 21 of 33 pass attempts for 220 yards.

He had one touchdown and threw one interception.

Zay Jones and James Summers provide the bulk of the offense for East Carolina (2-4, 0-2).

Jones had 18 catches for 145 yards and a touchdown.

Summers rushed for 114 yards on 18 carries with one score.

Davis Plowman has connected on field goals of 31, 40 and 49 yards.

Plowman did miss a 42-yard attempt midway through the 2nd quarter.
