NCAA relocates 7 events pulled from NC due to LGBT law


INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The NCAA has relocated the Divison I women’s golf championship to Athens, Georgia, after withdrawing the event from Greenville’s Ironwood Golf & Country Club due to HB2.

The NCAA announced the move Friday after pulling seven championship events from North Carolina last month. The golf championship will now be played at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

The NCAA also announced the relocation of the following events:

— the Divison I men’s basketball championship, first/second rounds

— the Division I women’s soccer championship to San Jose, California.

— the Division III men’s and women’s soccer championships to Salem, Virginia.

— the Division III men’s and women’s tennis championships to Chattanooga, Tennessee.

— the Division I women’s lacrosse championship to Boston.

— the Division II baseball championship to Grand Prairie, Texas.
