Portion of Greenville’s Fourth St. closing until 2018

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A portion of Fourth Street in the City of Greenville will close Thursday for nearly two years.

The area is closing due to construction of the Gather Uptown student housing project.

West Fourth Street between Pitt Street and Greene Street will be closed until August 2018.

A planned detour has been established utilizing Third Street and Fifth Street as the alternative east/west routes.

The closure is required to allow for the placement of the project field office for the Gather Uptown project that is underway on the lot between West Fourth Street and West Fifth Street and Greene Street and Pitt Street.
