Cherry Branch ferry not running Thursday

HAVELOCK, N.C. (WNCT) – The Cherry Branch Ferry is still not running Thursday morning due to high water.

According to NCDOT Operations Manager, Sue Kinner, the water level is still rising. The boat is sitting about three feet above road and is too high to get under the ramps.

The ferry normally runs from Cherry Branch to Minnesott Beach only taking 20 minutes.
