Craven County schools looks for bus drivers following budget cuts

NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – Craven County schools are in need of school bus drivers after budget cuts and teacher assistant reductions caused problems for the school system’s transportation.

Superintendent Meaghan Doyle said in the last four years they have lost 111 positions.

She said they are looking for dedicated drivers who put safety first.

“We need folks who are diligent about protecting the safety of our children, and these people are so crucial to that,” Doyle said.
