NEW BERN, N.C. (WNCT) – In this week’s community spotlight, we headed to New Bern where elegant kitchens of the city will be featured on its fourth annual historic tour.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina at New Bern and WNCT is a proud co-sponsor of the event.

Tickets are still available for the event, which will be held from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday.

Tickets are twenty five dollars and will feature eight historic homes in New Bern with a barbecue lunch at the Isaac Taylor Garden.

The chair of the event says the money raised will go directly back into the food bank.

“There are over 63000 people in need and primarily children and seniors in our area,” said Barbara Thomas, Chair of the Food Bank Kitchen Tour of New Bern.

For every dollar donated, the food bank is able to distribute ten dollars’ worth of food, or five meals.
