RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — A man has been charged in connection with the slaying of his wife, whose body was found behind a Raleigh furniture store.
Media outlets report that 51-year-old Volodymyr Kocherhin was arrested Sunday and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his wife, 44-year-old Olha Kocherhina.
Raleigh police say the woman’s body was found at 1:30 a.m. Friday behind Kimbrell’s Furniture. Investigators say Olha Kocherhina died of internal injuries, but haven’t provided further details.
The News & Observer reports (http://bit.ly/2cYWGSy) that Kocherhin and his wife were scheduled to appear in court Nov. 17 in Dare County, where police charged him with driving while impaired in July. Kocherhina had been charged with aiding and abetting an impaired driver.
Kocherhin was appointed a public defender Monday during his first court appearance.
