Goldsboro man arrested in Tommy’s Food Mart shooting

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) – Wayne County Sheriff’s Office deputies have arrested a man suspected of firing into Tommy’s Food Mart in Goldsboro Thursday.

Absalom Cobb is being charged with shooting into the building as well as two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Deputies, as well as officers from the Goldsboro Police Department, responded to reports of shots being fired at Tommy’s Food Mart near the Walmart Neighborhood Market on Tommy’s Road Thursday. Deputies said two vehicles were involved in the shooting.

Cobb is being held at Wayne County Detention Center in lieu of $150,000 bail.
