Funeral service announced for Shelby officer killed in the line of duty

SHELBY, N.C. (WNCT) – Funeral services have been announced for fallen Shelby police Officer Tim Brackeen.

Officer Brackeen will be laid to rest on Friday afternoon. The funeral service will take place at Shelby High School.

A public visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening.

Officer Brackeen died on Monday after being shot while trying to serve a warrant over the weekend.

The suspect, Irving Fenner, was arrested in Rhode Island after four days on the run.
