Police investigating after Kinston shooting leaves one injured

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting.

Kinston police responded to 621 Harvey Street around 7:40 p.m.

When they arrived on the scene, they found 25-year-old Johnny Thomas Jr. (AKA Tony) suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg. He was taken to Lenoir Memorial and later transferred to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville for treatment.

Witnesses told officers a vehicle, possibly a dark, in color, Chevrolet Impala, occupied by three subjects pulled up, called out to the victim by name, and then fired multiple rounds.
