Traffic stops yield drug arrests in Dare County

MANTEO, N.C. (WNCT) – The Dare County Narcotics Task Force made arrests in two separate traffic stops Friday, leading to the arrest of four individuals.

The task force arrested three individuals in Manteo Friday after a vehicle search led to discovery of cocaine and marijuana. A news release stated the search was the result of a lengthy narcotics investigation, and the Manteo Police Department K-9 assisted in the search of the vehicle.

The task force also stopped a vehicle on Hatteras Island just north of Avon and found crack cocaine in the vehicle. The task force said they had been informed the driver was making trips to Virginia to pick up cocaine and bring it to the island.

Dare County Narcotics Task Force is made up of the following Agencies; Dare County Sheriff’s Office, Nags Head Police Department, Kill Devil Hills Police Department, Kitty Hawk Police Department, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (NCSBI) and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (NCALE)

The suspects stopped in Manteo and charged were:
Rickey Glenn Campbell, 26 – Spindrift Trail, Southern Shores, NC 27949, $3,000 secured bond.
One count – felony conspire to sell/deliver cocaine.
Woodard Randolf Tillett, 20 – Old Wharf Road, Wanchese, NC 27981, $5,000 secured bond.
One count – felony possession with the intent to sell/deliver cocaine.
One count – felony conspire to sell/deliver cocaine.
James William Young II, 32 Baum Bay Drive, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948, $5,000 secured bond.
One count – felony possession of cocaine
The suspect stopped on Hatteras Island and charged was:

Jason Patrick Williams, 36, McMullen Road, Avon, NC 27915, $4,000 secured bond.
One count – felony possession of cocaine
