A new farmers market comes to Greenville

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The City of Greenville hosted a new farmers market at the Five Points Plaza on Saturday

The Down East Farmers Market and The Coalition for Healthier Eating brings in locally grown food.

They sell anything from kale and tomatoes to grass feed beef burgers.

Executive director of the coalition Maxine White said it’s important that people are getting the freshest and safest food available in their area. “The farmers that we represent do not use chemicals, they don’t use any herbicides. They produce their products the way that people did 50 years ago and longer from the earth.”

They will be in Uptown every Saturday 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. If you’d like to see a certain type of food at the market next Saturday click here or here to contact them and they’ll bring it.
