Ocracoke Island reopens to visitors, mandatory evacuation lifted

OCRACOKE, NC (WNCT) – The mandatory evacuation of all visitors on Ocracoke Island was lifted on Sunday.

Ocracoke Island has reopened to visitors following the evacuation that was issued on Friday.

All ferry routes resumed to normal operations at 9am on Sunday, which includes the Hatteras/Ocracoke, Swan Quarter/Ocracoke, and the Cedar Island/Ocracoke Ferry runs.
