New study looks at when your most likely to die in surgery

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A new study released suggests that patients receiving late night surgeries are twice as likely to die as those who have surgery during regular business hours.

The study comes from researchers in Canada.

Doctors examined surgical data from a five year period, which also found even people with surgeries late in the day had a higher risk of death.
