Greenville Police: Suspect arrested in weekend armed robbery

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – The suspect wanted in the weekend armed robbery of a delivery driver is in custody.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit, in cooperation with the GPD Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, located and arrested 25-year-old Demetrius Crumble Monday night. He’s charged hwith Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Police said the armed robbery happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, August 28, when a delivery driver for Wings over Greenville was approached by a suspect outside a Nicklaus Drive residence. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded the driver’s food and money. He then fled the scene and was last seen running toward Masters Lane. A K9 track led officers to the 1000 block of Masters Lane where officers gathered information about a potential suspect.

Further investigation into the incident led to Crumble’s arrest. He was booked into the Pitt County Detention Center on a $200,000 secured bond.
