Maury Correctional officer busted for pot possession at work

MAURY, N.C. (WNCT) – A Maury Correctional officer has been arrested for possession of a controlled substance on prison premises.

Greene County Sheriff Lemmie Smith said Monday that 22-year-old Kristopher Scott Williams of Kinston was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance on Prison Premises after officers located 3 grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana on him.

It happened Saturday morning around 6:45 a.m.

Williams was placed under a $5,000 secured bond. He’s currently out on bond and due back in court in Spetember.
