Make it Monday: No-sew cornhole bags

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Cornhole is a fall staple in Eastern North Carolina, and you can’t have a good cornhole game without the bags.

9 On Your Side caught up with Julia Eatman who makes cornhole bags regularly for her family members friends. She’s showing us an easy way that doesn’t require sewing.

Here’s what you’ll need:
-fabric
– beans
– snack bag
– ruler
– scissors
– hot glue gun

First, figure out how big you want your bean bags. For this demonstration, we’re going to cut our fabric to 5 inches by 5 inches.

We’re making 8 bean bags, so cut out 16 total squares of fabric.

“That’s the great thing about this,” said Eatman. “You can use scrap fabric from anything you have in the house.”

Once done cutting, get your hot glue gun. We’re going to turn these inside out so glue the inside of what will eventually be the outside.

Glue three of the four sides.

Once the three sides are dry, flip it inside out. Then, take a snack bag and fill it with about a quarter cup of beans.

“You can use any type of beans. I like the navy beans,” said Eatman. “They’re not too big but they’re big enough that they won’t fall through the fabric.”

Close the snack bag and fold it into the bag.

Next, grab your hot glue gun again and fold the open side of the bean bag. Fold the edges and glue it closed inside.

Wait for it to dry and repeat the steps for the other bean bags.
