Person airlifted to hospital after Grifton accident

GRIFTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Two people were injured, one seriously, in a Friday morning accident in Grifton.

According to Highway Patrol the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Hanrahan Road near Marvin Taylor Road.

Troopers say the only occupants of each vehicle were the drivers and both were pinned in.

According to the investigating trooper, the driver of one vehicle, Linda Hill, went left of the center line and crashed into the other vehicle. Hill is charged with driving left of center. She was taken to Vidant Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The other driver, whose name is not currently being released, was taken to Vidant Medical Center by EastCare in serious condition.

Grifton Fire and EMS, Ayden Fire, Winterville EMS, Highway Patrol and Vidant EastCare responded.
