ECU Honors College students spend day helping community

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – While many college kids are making the move back to ECU’s campus this week, one group of students is spending their day helping the community.

Incoming Honors College students spent their first day at ECU giving back to 10 different non-profit organizations across Pitt County.

The honors students visited several locations and instructed hands-on activities related to nanotechnology to help parents and kids learn more about the growing field.

Business major Andrew Lee said spending time the community and making people happy is all worth it.

“We want to be able to spread our knowledge and anything we can do with the community,” explained Andrew Lee, ECU Honor’s College business major. “It’s nice to see the bright smiles on the children’s faces.”

This is an annual event and more than 450 service hours were earned from the event.
