GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – It’s back to homework and a regular sleep schedule for more than a 100 kids in Pitt County.
Pitt County Early College High School started Monday morning. The school allows students to obtain an associate’s degree in four to five years as well as a high school diploma.
Adajia Branch said this is her second year at the school and has big dreams for her future, “I want to major in criminal justice and pre-law and become a prosecuting attorney. And if that doesn’t work out, I would like to become a detective.”
Branch said the hardest thing about the program is balancing both high school and college level classes.
Around 90 percent of the students will be first-generation college students.
