Oklahoma bee attack sends three to hospital, two seriously injured

OKLAHOMA CITY, O.K. (WNCT) – A bad transaction between two beekeepers in Oklahoma eventually led to three people being hospitalized, two with serious injuries.

Officials said two beekeepers were meeting near an Oklahoma City Walmart when something disturbed the bees, which caused them to escape. At the height of the chaos, officials estimated there were between 20,000 and 30,000 bees.

Several people nearby were stung multiple times, leading three to be hospitalized, two of whom are in serious condition.

Officials said large swarm attacks, while uncommon, can lead to serious health complications like loss of vision and trouble breathing.
