GPD investigating shooting near Evans St that left one man injured

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville Police is investigating a shooting that happened near Evans Street on Wednesday night.

Police say a man showed up to Vidant Medical Center on Thursday morning saying he was shot in his leg. The man claims he was riding his bike in the area of Evans Street and Howell Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. when the shooting happened.

He says he heard a pop and that’s when he looked down and found he was shot. The man says he doesn’t know where the shot came from. He did say that he finished a few errands and went to bed.

On Thursday morning he called a family member to take him to the hospital. He is expected to be okay.
