Kinston wastewater discharges 2000 gallons of untreated water

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) – About 2000 gallons of untreated wastewater was discharged on Tuesday.

According to a press release, the discharge happened from a manhole just north of the Adkin Branch on Queen Street. It happened after a sewer pipe became clogged by grease.

The leaked was fixed shortly after it was detected.
