Kinston High School holds midnight practice as football kicks off

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT)- The high school football season has officially started.

August 1st marks the official start date where teams across North Carolina can hold organized team practices.

The Kinston Vikings, led by Head Coach Ryan Gieselman, were one of the first teams to kick off practice at 12:01.

The Vikings went 15-1 last year, with the lone loss in the 2A State Championship game.

The Kinston Vikings were the first on the field, yet they’re not the only team across the east practicing today. Be sure to join WNCT at 5, 6 and 11 as we continue to preview high school football.
