NEW INFO: Pitt County woman charged in early morning shooting

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Greenville Police have made an arrest in an early morning shooting that left two people injured.

Police say it happened right before 2 Saturday morning on the 1400 block of John Cox Lane. Officers found a 21-year-old male from Winterville suffering from a gunshot wound. He is currently at Vidant Medical Center with serious injuries. A second victim, also a 21-year-old, arrived by private vehicle with a gunshot wound. He has since been treated and released.

21 year old Rebecca Nicole Phillips of Winterville has been charged with Assault With a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. She is being held at the Pitt County Detention Center under at $200,000 bond.

Police say a preliminary investigation revealed there was a large party at the location and numerous shots were fired.
