Greenvillle’s Little League team holding its own in Tournament of State Champions

GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)-  Greenville North State opened the annual Tournament of State Champions with a big 19-2 win over South Carolina on Saturday.

Coach Michael Vaughn says his club is taking the tournament one game at a time.

“You know the first three games are pool play, and you have to be 2 and 1 to advance to the single elimination tournament. You know we want to just have a good showing and represent Greenville well,” said Vaughn. .

North State plays on Sunday at 6:15 pm at Elm Street Park. All games are free. There are eight teams representing eight states in the southeastern portion of the United States. The 10-11 year olds do not have a World Series, so the TOSC serves as the divisions top tournament for the postseason.
