Uptown Greenville gets a look at the sun

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Just in time for NASA’s 58th birthday, Greenville got a little taste of space.

Young children and adults stopped by on their way to lunch in uptown and got a different perspective of earth’s star.

‘A time for science’ astronomy director Brian Baker showed the sun through a telescope.

It came with a safety lens to block light making it easier to see movement.

Baker says NASA paved a way for him to teach what he loves.

“NASA is really great at outreach and making sure educators like me and other science teachers to have many resources to inspire children about the universe around them,” he said

Every first Saturday of the month kids can go to ‘a time for science’ for a kids space day.
