GREENVILLE, NC (WNCT)- Every year parents for public schools in Pitt County admit dozens of parents to their parent engagement program and now is the time to sign up.
The program is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the public school system. Participants spend the entire school year learning all the in’s and out’s of Pitt County Schools.
This includes the budget and role of the school board. One of the program’s leaders says graduates leave ready to advocate for their children.
“From the teacher to the legislature it’s the entire gamut so they feel very empowered when they reach the graduation stage,” local parent Kylene Dibble said.
The group meets once a month starting in September. They are taking applications until August 19th. Click here for more information.
