Onslow Co. deputy and woman sent to hospital after car accident

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – An Onslow County Sheriff’s deputy and a woman went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a car accident on Wednesday afternoon, according to Jacksonville Police.

Police said the Deputy Charles Duggan, 30, was responding to an emergency call and was operating his lights and siren when Mary Arne, 85, crashed her car into his.

It happened as he was pulling out of the Jacksonville Public Safety Building after 2 p.m.

Jacksonville Police said Arne did not slow or stop like the other traffic did on Marine Boulevard.

Arne was cited for Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicles.
