Three separate homicides being investigated in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, NC (WNCT) – Three people have been killed in Goldsboro in what police are calling unrelated homicides.

Goldsboro Police are investigating the shooting death of 19 year old Atiya Maddox. Maddox was shot in broad daylight at approximately 1pm on Friday afternoon, near the intersection of Olivia Lane and Slaughter Street.

Maddox was transported to Wayne Memorial hospital, where she died.

Hours later, 53 year old Randy Grady was found unresponsive at a home on Greg Drive in Goldsboro.

Wayne County Sheriff Larry M. Pierce said that Grady and an acquaintance had gotten into a physical altercation.

After the altercation, Grady collapsed. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

The third incident happened at approximately 12:30am on Saturday at a business on Highway 117 South.

25 year old Joshua Omar Forbes was found dead from a gunshot wound he received elsewhere.

Forbes had gone to a residence on Bryan Boulevard in Goldsboro, where he got into a confrontation with another person.

A gunshot was heard, and Forbes reportedly ran back to his vehicle, announcing he had been shot. Someone took Forbes to the hospital, and stopped at the business for help. That’s where Forbes died.

No suspect information was released in any of the deaths.
