Vidant: Surgeons use innovative treatment to save trauma patient’s life

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Vidant Medical Center is reporting how doctors saved a man using innovative treatments.

Ronald Sharpe’s liver was injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this year.

But when he got to the Greenville hospital, Vidant and Brody School of Medicine doctors used a bypass to repair the organ. The bypass is normally reserved for transplant procedures.

Sharpe says he’s thankful and grateful for the collaboration and care.
