ROBERSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A Martin County father charged with causing brain injuries to his 6-week-old daughter is waiting to appear in court.
Lance Spruill was arrested on Friday after deputies obtained warrants for his arrest. He heads to court in August.
The girl’s mother, Myesha Jones, is also charged with child abuse. She heads to court Wednesday.
The infant was released from the hospital on Friday but there’s no word yet on who’s caring for her.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a mother and issued a warrant for a father after their infant was admitted to the hospital with head injuries.
Deputies said they were called Martin General Hospital after a 6-week-old infant was treated for head injuries on July 11.
Warrants show the infant had multiple skull fractures. She was released from Vidant Medical Center on Friday.
As a result of the investigation, the infant’s mother, Myesha Jones, was charged with child abuse. She was taken to Bertie-Martin Regional Jail and given a $100,000 bond.
Jones had a brief court appearance Wednesday. Her next court date is July 20.
Deputies also issued an arrest warrant for the baby’s father, Lance Spruill. He also faces felony child abuse charges.
