Host families needed for foreign exchange students

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – A local school is looking for host families to accommodate students coming to visit from China.

The Oakwood School says 10 children will be going to class every day and learning the American culture. The kids will live with host families from August to June. Coordinator for International Students Amanda Strahin says anyone is eligible as long as they meet a few requirements.

“That the student has their own bedroom; they are able to share a bathroom with family members. They need to have access to the internet, transportation to and from school and any sort of sports activities. We encourage students to participate in as much as they can,” Strahin said.
