Deputies: Two shot and killed inside a Florida Hospital, suspect arrested

TITUSVILLE, FL (WNCT) – Two people are dead following a shooting inside a Florida hospital Sunday morning.

It happened at the Parish Medical Center in Titusville, Florida just after two o’clock.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says a gunman walked into a room and shot an elderly patient and an employee sitting inside the room.

Investigators say two unarmed security guards were able to keep the shooter from harming anyone else. The guards detained the shooter until sheriff’s deputies arrived at the hospital.

“Their actions to attack the suspect and work as a team kept the others from getting hurt, there’s no question about that,” said Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey.

No word yet on the shooter’s name or the identities of the two people killed.
