GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Once again people across the East came out by the hundreds to make WNCT’s Shred-A-Thon a huge success on Saturday.
This year was our biggest yet, with locations set up in Greenville, Washington and Kinston.
In Greenville, hundreds of cars were lined up at a time, sometimes waiting more than 30 minutes to shred personal documents. Those we spoke to said it was well worth it, and a great community event.
“I’ve had papers from my classes and my own personal things. I’m concerned about first of confidentiality, and secondly about identity theft,” said Mary Ann Stone, just one of the people who waited at the Greenville location.
All together, tens of thousands of pounds worth of personal documents were safely shredded at the three locations.
