Phillip Lewis arrested for parole violation

FARMVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – Phillip Lewis has been arrested for a parole violation.

Back in 2012, Lewis was sentenced to 3 to 5 years in prison for the 2010 murder of an ECU student at Copper Beech Apartments.

The high-profile case drew criticism from the local NAACP, who said the plea deal was unjust. They said Lewis got off easy because he’s white and from a wealthy family.

9 On Your Side is working to confirm more details about Lewis’ current parole violation and will have more details as they become available.
