Jamesville man wanted for felony drug charges captured after pursuit

WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Rakeem De’ Andre Williams was arrested and charged after a vehicle pursuit in Beaufort County, according to the Beaufort Sheriff’s Office.

Williams was wanted for felony drug charges in Martin County. Beaufort County deputies attempted to stop Williams, but when he spotted officials, he fled.

The suspect drove through a neighborhood in Washington, through yards and behind homes to elude police. After continuing out of the neighborhood, he crashed into a tree at the corner of East 12th Street and Market Street. Williams jumped out of the car and began to run on foot.

Deputies ended up finding Williams 30 minutes after searching and charged him with felony fleeing to elude, failure to heed blue for lights and siren, among other charges.
