Wayne County traffic stop leads to arrest

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. (WNCT)- A Mount Olive man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop Sunday.

On Sunday, Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies were conducting a traffic checking station at the intersection of Durham Lake Road and South Landfill Road.

22-year-old Brandon Curtis Johnson pulled up at the checking station and was not in possession of his license. Further investigation resulted in evidence of drug activity in the vehicle. A search was then conducted.

When the search was completed, heroin and drug paraphernalia were located and seized. Johnson was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Johnson was placed in Wayne County Jail under $1,000 bond.
