Search resumes for missing fisherman in Durham County

BAHAMA, N.C. (AP) — Durham County sheriff’s deputies say the search has resumed for a fisherman reported missing in Little River Lake near Bahama.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Tamara Gibbs said in a statement Monday afternoon that divers with the sheriff’s department have resumed the search.

The North Carolina Wildlife Commission is also searching the area where the fisherman was last seen.

Deputies say a bystander rescued one person when a canoe capsized late Sunday morning. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Deputies say neither of the men was wearing a life jacket when the canoe flipped.

The names of those in the canoe have not been released.
